Good evening everyone, and welcome back to ORDER News at 10, your premiere
source of news and current events here at WIIT! Here are this week’s top
stories:
- WIIT is hosting their third annual 24-hour stream this Friday starting at
8PM and ending Saturday at 8PM. This year’s stream follows a slumber party
theme, the type of music you would play at a sleepover. The stream will
kickoff at 8PM with a show from your very own WIIT exec board, followed by a
kickoff party at the station at 9PM. Join us for an evening of good music,
good pizza, pillow fights, and even appearances from local wizards!
- The Illinois Tech Women’s Soccer team has won the Northern Athletics
Collegiate Conference (or NACC) championship and are also in the running for
the NCAA Division III tournament, having won against North Central College
and Carnegie Mellon to make it to the round of 16. Congratulations on the
W’s so far! Tech yeah!
- In other successful news, Illinois Tech is certainly doing numbers! In the
past three years, Enrollment has increased by 27%, and new first year
admissions has increased by 52%. More people are taking interest in the
school as well, as applications have doubled since 2021! They’re certainly
establishing a stronger reputation than the 80s and 90s when they were known
for being the “ugliest college campus in the US”, but do you expect to keep
that record when you start having buildings designed by people other than
Mies Van Der Rohe?
And that’s all our updates for today, please stay tuned for our Smooth Jazz
broadcast this evening, and remember to always be on the lookout for dissident
media.
